As part of the epic fun that took place on April Fool’s Day, Blizzard was definitely the busiest of the bees in the hive. Earlier, the epic game developers launched a faux trailer for their popular card playing MMO Hearthstone, which was harmless and resulted in brightening a lot of people’s’ day.
Not ready to end the party, Blizzard turned right back around and introduced a new race for their ragingly popular sci-fi strategy game, Starcraft II. The race? Birds!
Yes, regular, average, everyday birds.
There are flightless birds, baby birds, aquatic birds, artic birds–Alfred Hitchcock didn’t have as many birds!
Blizzard even went as far to surprise fans with an animation of Carbot’s Zergling! Carbot Animation has been a a long time acclaimed youtube cartoonist known for his whimsical reimaginings of Starcraft battles. He has personally worked alongside Blizzard to produce content, it’s gratifying to see them continue to tribute his work and the fandom.
