Star Wars: Rogue One writer Gary Whitta has started a new talk show inside the popular game Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The show, named Animal Talk, is following his promise of bringing wholesome content to the Animal Crossing community, and already has a pilot episode. The highlights of this episode are available on YouTube and feature his first guest Naomi Kyle with the promise to bring even more celebrity guests, musical acts, and comedians.
Since many players are already finished with the main story of Animal Crossing: New Horizon, many choose to spend their time farming, becoming fashion designers, and even hosting parties for those they cannot see during the stay at home orders due to COVID-19. Gary Whitta has taken his time to build a talk show set in the basement of his home. Whitta’s set includes many television cameras, a drum set, and even an inserted cityscape background that he can sit in front of. As Whitta tells in the pilot episode, “I had this idea less than 24 hours ago and we very, very quickly assembled a fully functional, armed, and operational late-night talk show set down here in the basement of my (Animal Crossing) house.”
So I built a talk show set in my #AnimalCrossing basement and today’s pilot episode of ANIMAL TALKING with special guest @NaomiKyle and bandleader @nickervision was a huge hit! Stay tuned for much more. Musical guests! Stand-up comedy! Dare we dream of @elijahwood on the couch? pic.twitter.com/SPEsKylHrK

People can expect new episodes every Wednesday night at 7 pm PST, and according to Whitta’s Twitter, every episode will be edited and posted on YouTube after being on Twitch. Each of his videos are edited by Adam Nickerson and include beginning monologues, musical intros, and a time-space for each of his guests to talk.”I fully expect to have all kinds of celebrity guests,” Whitta says again. His resume extends to different gaming titles such as Prey and Telltale’s The Walking Dead, along with movies such as Book of Eli, and After Earth.
