Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s New Patch Addresses Numerous Lingering Issues From Launch

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor released with a multitude of problems plaguing the game and thus the game was received somewhat negatively by its fans from its original release date. Now Respawn has been slowly releasing patches to remedy the situation. The newest addition, patch 7, was released earlier today. In addition to all the minor tweaks and adjustments, support for Nvidia DLSS 3 was added to the game.

If you’re unfamiliar with Nvidia’s graphic developments, DLSS is the name given to the tech that can do things like provide your game with anti-aliasing without over-amping your GPU or even increase your frame rate in a way that also does not negatively impact your GPU. DSOGaming claims the DLSS version is the full-fat, frame-generating DLSS 3.

The frame-generating tech that the DLSS provides could smooth over many of the bugs present in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Any lingering performance bugs would be corrected with the implementation of the Nvidia DLSS 3. However, if you don’t own at least a Nvidia 40-series GPU to take advantage of the frame generation aspect of the Nvidia 3, you will be unable to reap there benefits of the enhanced frame generation. The good news is that the DLSS 2 should be enough to correct most of the bugs present in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and the anti-aliasing should also be enough to see improvement in the game’s performance.

Besides the potential fixes a Nvidia 3 DLSS provides, the patch notes for patch 7 are relatively sparse. These include:

  • Performance & optimization improvements for PC, including DLSS support
  • Save system tweaks to help prevent save game corruption
  • Fixed issues where players could not retrieve their XP after dying under certain circumstances
  • Various crash fixes
  • Various bug fixes & improvements across all platforms, including fixes for cloth, lighting, and UI.

As usual, Steam will download update 7 for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor the next time the client is launched.
