Fans of Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order were elated when its sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, was formally announced in May 2022 during Star Wars Celebration. Since then, gameplay was revealed during the Game Awards 2022. After announcing the game’s delay until April, Respawn has been quiet about Jedi: Survivor. That was until they revealed a new trailer earlier today.
At 9 a.m. PT, Respawn Entertainment released a story trailer for Jedi: Survivor. The trailer was distributed across the EA Star Wars official Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. It depicts Cal Kestis on a new adventure set five years after Jedi: Fallen Order. It also provided fans insight into which Jedi: Fallen Order characters were returning in the sequel and the new characters Cal will encounter in his new journey.
Fear and mistrust rule the galaxy.

The main cast from Jedi: Fallen Order is confirmed to reappear in the sequel. Among them is Cere Junda, former Jedi and Cal’s mentor from the previous game. Cere was previously confirmed to appear in the Game Awards showcase.
Another returning character from Jedi: Fallen Order is Greez, captain of the Stinger Mantis ship and close associate of Cal and Cere.
Merrin, a mystical Nightsister who joined Cal’s crew in Jedi: Fallen Order, is also coming back for the sequel. Further, the trailer also shows her fighting stormtroopers alongside Cal, teasing many combat possibilities for the character.
But the returning characters aren’t the only stars in the trailer. Bode Akuna, a freelance gunslinger and one of Cal’s new allies, briefly appears on the screen. He was confirmed back in the Game Awards showcase. Like Merrin, it seems he will also fight alongside Cal in combat with a jetpack and blasters.
The trailer also provided a brief glimpse of Jedi: Survivor‘s light-haired mystery character, who has appeared in previous game trailers in bacta tank suspension. He seems to be a Force user with a distaste for the Empire but will apparently oppose Cal as the game progresses.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Survivor centers around the continuation of Cal’s journey five years after the first game. Now a powerful Jedi Knight, his fight against the Empire becomes more perilous as he decides how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him. The game will allow players to discover new planets and revisit familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy, as well as master new skills, equipment, and abilities. Players will also access additional force abilities and lightsaber styles to form their distinctive style to overcome the game’s adversaries.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Survivor is scheduled to release on April 28th, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows.
