As Star Wars Jedi: Survivor enters its release day, fans have already pointed out some major performance issues for certain versions of the game. PC users have reported major performance issues that negatively effect game play in their versions of Jedi Survivor. EA was quick to respond to those frustrations, taking to Twitter to post a notice about the PC issues and their steps to fix them.
In the notice, EA assured players that they are aware of the bugs saying that the PC version wasn’t performing well on PC, particularly “with high-end machines or certain specific configurations.”Additionally, EA noted that “multi-threaded chip sets” for Windows 11 were having problems on Windows 10 and “high-end GPUs coupled with lower-performing CPUs” also saw problems.
EA noted that while their teams were working extensively on fixes, each patch would need “extensive testing” to prevent future problems.
“Thanks for understanding and apologies to any of our players experiencing these issues,” said EA. ” We will continue to monitor performance across all platforms and share update timing as soon as it is available.”
Unsurprisingly, fans weren’t thrilled at another AAA video game releasing with extensive performance issues despite EA’s prompt response. Many questioned why EA even released Jedi Survivor if the issues on its PC version were so extensive. Others have even pointed out that similar issues exist on all platforms it was released in.
Options, game developer and software test engineer for Microsoft, gave their own breakdown on what possible could have gone down behind the scenes, hypothesizing that these issues weren’t enough cause for production to halt Jedi Survivor’s release.
Regardless, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor represents a glaring problem in the modern gaming industry surrounding the rise of bug filled game releases.
