Star Wars is an ever popular IP, and Knights of the Old Republic is a series that’s been beloved for over 20 years now, so a new Old Republic game is obviously going to make waves in the form of Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. It’s just a 30 second teaser but the fact that it exists should be enough to tide people over for a while.

It’s not a traditional CRPG, it’s described as an “action” role-playing game, which may set off a few alarm bells but the Fallen Order series have had good action, and hopefully the Old Republic name means that the game will lean more on the role-playing game half and less on the action. Of course, being an Old Republic game, the character should be customizable, so don’t worry, you should be able to customize everything about the character from their gender to their Force alignment.

Another thing to note is that Casey Hudson himself, famed director of the first Knights of the Old Republic, has come back for this game. So there’s a pedigree there besides just the name brand. It’s good to finally look forward to quality Star Wars content! If you’re interested in an even deeper dive into what Fate of the Old Republic will be about, be sure to check out the exclusive interview with Hudson on the official Star Wars website.

Derek Lairmore: I've been playing video games and writing my entire life, so naturally I decided to combine the two passions. I love video games and video game culture, as far back as I can remember I've not only played them, I've actively participated in their communities. I hope my history in this hobby and my enthusiasm for writing helps me convey news to you accurately and succinctly.
