The updates for Star Wars Battlefront II continue into 2019 with Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus being added at the end of January as a playable hero. Last year we saw a variety of updates including one that added the much anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi as playable hero, among others. This year seems to be kicking off with multiple limited-time events aimed around triple XP, likely to get newer players caught up and ready for when the update drops at the end of the month.
The Clone Trooper skin that is being added this month is the “Coruscant Guard”, a highly requested skin for Clone Troopers that even received a mod few months ago. The Darth Tyranus content being added this month for the update has still not been shown off in any form as of writing, but images and videos can be expected soon due to the close release date. Even though there has been nothing released showing Count Dooku, one can make the conclusion that his “Dark Ritual” skin will likely originate from The Clone Wars animated series, as he doesn’t have any wild wardrobe changes in the prequel trilogy.
The updates don’t end here however, as the end of the update roadmap released by DICE last summer is going to be this February. With Anakin Skywalker being added as playable hero and a new game mode, DICE seems to be planning to finish the updates off with a bang. While Anakin is technically playable already, having a version of him before Mustafar has been requested by fans for a very long time. Not much has been revealed for what comes after all the updates. While there will potentially be a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront II, nothing has been formally announced as of yet. Hopefully, if there is a sequel, the developers will have learned from the mistakes that were made.
The Darth Tyranus update for Star Wars Battlefront II arrives on January 23, 2018.
