Following a small hiccup on Tuesday when a teaser trailer was leaked for the upcoming sequel Star Wars Battlefront II, we are now able to see the actual thing. Shortly after the release, EA sent out an “official” teaser trailer that was in fact different than the one leaked. Today however, EA officially released the first trailer for the game during a Star Wars celebration in Orlando Florida.
The trailer itself was beautiful when it came to the graphics. The worlds and space battle flowed brilliantly. And this time, the single player campaign was the focus of the video, instead of multiplayer. This installment of the series will be all about the empire and the struggles they went through following certain events within the series.
Players will be given the point of view of being part of the empire and will be set after the Death War explodes. The trailer begins with the storm troopers look up into the sky and see their beloved Death Star explode before saying that “the rebellion needs to die” before putting their helmets back on and continuing to fight. This ultimately takes place in between the two movie series timelines.
In the discussion after the trailer, with the executive producer and a few others, there was a small Q and A in which some details about Battlefront II were revealed. The biggest thing has to be the fact that unlike the first game, this one will be immensely heavy on campaign story as well as multiplayer gameplay. Take a look below.
Players will be part of Inferno Squad, or alpha team, which is the special forces for the empire in which they are the Empires ultimate warriors. They will be the most devout to the Empire, having seen the Death Star explode, they get ready to continue to take on the rebellion regardless of the loss. They wanted them to have the belief that what they were doing was the right thing to do, while the Rebellion was bad.
Take a look at the video below from the live stream and see what you think about the event. Stay tuned in the future for more developments and reveals fro the game.
