A Reddit user by the name uninspired_zebra, whom has reportedly gotten Star Wars Battlefront II information early via datamining has now posted a supposed “leak” that has taken fans by surprise. A video has been posted with a character customization option that is currently not available within the game.
The video shows a PC version of the game displaying a change Change Appearance option in the Assault character class. It also shows the player changing the appearance of the class and showing a variety of skin options to choose from within the Galactic Republic faction and also the Rebel Alliance.
The developers for the game have stated in the past that they were considering customization options for Battlefront II, but this was somewhat counteracted by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen stating that the company has has difficulty adding such a feature due to the fact they they are working within the Star Wars story Arc.
He stated at the Credit Suisse Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference earlier this week, “It’s an amazing brand that’s been built over many, many years. So if you did a bunch of cosmetic things, you might start to violate the canon. Darth Vader in white probably doesn’t make sense, versus in black. Not to mention you probably don’t want Darth Vader in pink. No offense to pink, but I don’t think that’s right in the canon.” It looks like the developer found a way to work around the challenges plagues by the unique franchise if this leak proves to be true.
