Star Trek: Resurgence Set to be Delisted From Digital Platforms

Star Trek: Resurgence is a narrative-driven adventure game that is similar in style to Telltale games, released back in May 2023. It is now set to be delisted from digital platforms soon enough. The reasoning behind the game’s delisting is that the license of the game has expired, and it is unknown if the license will be renewed later down the line. Still, if you are interested in the game, you are able to purchase it from the Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, and Nintendo EShop, as it has been delisted from Microsoft stores and Steam, so act quickly, as it is unknown when it will be delisted on the rest of the stores.

The game was released back in May 2023, and now, only three years later, the game is facing delisting. The game was also only allowed to flourish on Steam for an even shorter period, as it was released in 2024 for Steam, as it was locked behind an exclusivity deal with the Epic Games Store. It’s sad to see a game’s life be cut short, as it has already been delisted from Steam with only brief message from the devs giving a simple thank you and stating that the license to distribute has expired. There are many speculations about when the game will be completely delisted, as some think it will be on May 23, 2026, only three years after its launch, but that is only speculation. If you want the game, go buy it now from the stores mentioned earlier.

Star Trek: Resurgence was developed by Dramatic Labs, a studio that was founded by the former head of Telltale Games, Kevin Burner. Lots of reviews of the game said it played similarly to Telltale games, so if you like that type of game and play style, where your choices shape the story, then buy it before it’s gone. It always sucks when a game’s license expires, as players seeking to play it won’t be able to, since you can’t buy it digitally, and physical copies become more expensive and scarcer. It is unknown if the game will have its license renewed at this point. Only time will tell.

Jorge Peredo: Growing up, I've always been fascinated by storytelling, whether through reading, watching, or playing video games. Having been exposed to storytelling for so long, I have been influenced, and through that influence, I seek to write and create my own stories that others can enjoy and that I can be proud of.
