Star Ocean: Anamnesis Comes to Mobile This July and Beta Registration Is Now Open

Star Ocean is the Sci-Fi RPG series from Square Enix that started all the way back in 1996. On the series’ 20th year anniversary, the series released its latest entry into the franchise, Star Ocean: Anamnesis, in Japan. Come July this year, Star Ocean: Anamnesis will be launching for Android and iPhone users in all of North America.

Star Ocean: Anamnesis has players leading a squad of heroes across the galaxy. Throughout the game, players will need to build a strategic team in order to overcome the obstacles thrown at them. Players can choose between a plethora of specific character archetypes, such as attackers, sharpshooters, defenders, invokers, and healers in order to assemble the most powerful crew to take on enemy forces. With the mobile release, Square Enix have ensured that the the controls for the title are enhanced in order to fully experience the fast-paced real-time combat that the game ha to offer.

In addition to the mobile release of Star Ocean: Anamnesis to the west, players will be able to partake in many different missions with friends. This multiplayer addition also marks the first time in the series’ history where players are able to play with each other cooperatively.

While there is no specific date for the July release, there is currently a closed beta registration for the game going on right now. As a special bonus for pre-registering for the beta, the more users that sign up for the game test, the more rewards that Square Enix will hand out to all players at full launch. The rewards start at 25,000 registrations and caps out at 150,000 registrations. These rewards range from gems to weapons, and will even include special characters Welch and Faize, who are from previous Star Ocean titles.

While any progress from the beta will not carry over to the final game in North America, it will give curious players and fans alike to try out some of the awesome action as shown below.
