Square Enix has released a trailer for the new DLC for Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin. Taking place in the setting in the world of Final Fantasy 1, players learn the backstory of Jack Garland, the future antagonist of Final Fantasy I. After the initial fight with the Lufenians, a new journey unfolds as the game receives its DLC.
The trailer shows a Lufenian confronting Jack Garland about interfering with their plans but assures him there are still plans they can follow through. Emperor Mateus confronts Jack, referring to him as the future antagonist Garland. A battle ensues and the Lufenian assures the heroes she will incite chaos and a battle ensues. From the scene, we are shown new jobs and weapons for the game.
The first new job featured is the Marksman class. It gives players the ability to interrupt moves that are unblockable which lets them have an advantage against powerful attacks. The next class is Hunter which lets players attack while analyzing an enemy’s weakness allowing players to build stacks and which makes it easier to take advantage of an enemies weak points. The final job is the Gambler. This class has a roulette wheel that selects two random skills to unleash on foes such as Enthunder, Divine Sigil, and Magic Regen. There is a new smithy feature where players may use manikin as substitution material for when players are enhancing items. If there is certain equipment players need to make but are short on a few items, this feature will make it easier for them to finish crafting gear. The second new feature is Replicate. Players are able to use manikin and crafting material for making copies of equipment. Now players can have duplicates of their favorite gear to optimize their battle strategies. As the battles go on, so does the fight to save the realms. Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Different Future is scheduled to be released January 27, 2023.
