Today, Square Enix held its first Square Enix Presents, a digital live stream in the vein of a Nintendo Direct and State of Play. Square Enix shared that we would be getting some info regarding Outriders, Marvel’s Avengers, Tomb Raider 25th Anniversary, and more. A new Life is Strange title was also revealed to be announced. Here is a rundown of everything that was shared during Square Enix Presents Spring 2021.
Ahead of its release on April 1, a new video showcased more info regarding Outriders. The video runs down everything concerning the game from the different classes to what players can expect to do once they hit the endgame content. Recently, the game was announced to be coming to Xbox Game Pass day 1 when it launches in April.
Celebrating 25 years of Tomb Raider, Square Enix revealed some of the things that will be coming throughout the year. Crossovers will be coming in collaboration with Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and War of the Visions Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. A new Tomb Raider Cookbook is coming as well.
The Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy was officially announced. It contains all three of the recent Tomb Raider games: Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration , and Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition. All of their DLC will be available as well. Following the reveal of Lara Croft in the latest season of Fortnite, Square Enix has revealed that Croft Manor will be coming to Fortnite Creative as a playable adventure on March 23.
Square Enix has revealed new games coming to mobile. Just Cause: Mobile has players create their own agent joining the ranks of the Firebrand, a special division within the agency. The mission is to stop a new mercenary group known as Darkwater. The game is playable in both single-player and multiplayer and features fast-paced top-down gameplay, with grappling, gliding, and shooting. The game is coming out in 2021.
Developed by the makers of the acclaimed Hitman Sniper and the studio behind Lara Croft GO, Hitman GO, and Dues Ex GO comes the brand new Hitman Sniper mobile game: Hitman Sniper Assassins. The game features a wholly original story, with new playable assassins and exciting gameplay features. The game will also be out in 2021.
Space Invaders is coming back in an all-new way. Sqaure Enix Montreal and TAITO are collaborating on a new vision that will incorporate AR technology and a modern art style.
New content for TOUHOU Spell Bubble will be coming to Nintendo Switch on March 25. The Side Story Pack Sanae Arc follows Sanae organizing the Spell Bubble Tournament. Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is coming to Steam along with ‘The Baron is Back’ update.
Darius Cozmic Revelation was announced, featuring G-Darius HD and Dariusburst: Another Chronicle EX+. G-Darius HD updates the classic game with high definition visuals, a new beginner’s mode and the edition of the rebalanced, previously arcade-exclusive G-Darius Ver.2. The game launches in late 2021 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Crystal Dynamics shared a new look at Marvel’s Avengers – Operation: Hawkeye- Future Imperfect, now available in-game. The developers also released a roadmap for what players can expect for the rest of the year.
Spring brings in the Tachyon Anomaly and the Red Room Takeover. The Tachyon Anomaly event will have Tachyon Rift Missions appear more often and will be scaled for power levels 1-100. Players can also more than one of the same heroes present in a Strike team during the Temporal Assult event. The Red Room Takeover will have unique HARM Room content and outfits. In the Summer, players can battle Monica, one of the villains from the main campaign in the Cosmic Cube. Wasteland Patrol is a new Patrol mode mission type that allows players to explore the largest War Zone area to date, complete with quests, and earn rewards without having to be in a mission.
Later in the year, the next big expansion is coming. The War for Wakanda expansion introduces Black Panther as a new hero and brings in more villains like Klaw, a new enemy faction, the Wakandan Jungle Biome, a new outpost, power level cap increase, and much more.
A new trailer was released for Balan Wonderworld. The trailer showcases a new glimpse at the costumes and abilities that characters Leo and Emma will be able to use on their quest as well some of the bosses that they will come across on the way. Balan Wonderworld releases next week on March 26 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
Life is Strange: True Colors is the next entry in the Life is Strange series. This new entry is developed by Deck Nine Games who worked on Life is Strange: Before the Storm. True Colors focuses on the brand new character Alex and her mission to find out what really happened to her brother after he dies unexpectedly. Like every Life is Strange title, Alex has supernatural power. She has the psychic power of Empathy which allows her to experience, absorb, and manipulate the feelings of others, and see them as colored auras. The game launches on September 10, 2021.
Life is Strange: Remastered Collection was also announced. The game features the original Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm, each enhanced with improved visuals and animation.
The last thing revealed during Square Enix Presents Spring 2021 was a new look at Forspoken, which was announced as PROJCT ATHIA during the PlayStation 5 showcase last year. The game follows Frey, played by actress Ella Balinska, as she is thrust into the fantastical and dangerous land of Athia, where she is forced to harness new magical abilities to survive.
