Publisher Square Enix has released a story trailer for its upcoming retro-styled game Lost Sphear. The trailer, which is titled “Restore the World,” offers a few more details on Lost Sphear‘s combat plot; you can check out the video below. The trailer was accompanied by a plot summary from Square Enix, reading, “In a broken world of lost memories… Only one hero can save us all… As an ominous power threatens the fabric of reality itself, Kanata and his friends must restore the disappearing world around them from being forgotten.”
The top-down JRPG follows protagonist Kanata “as he awakens from a devastating dream leading him to find his home erased from existence.” Players are tasked with restoring and rebuilding the world through Kanata’s awakened power of Memory, accompanied by a group of friends and followers. Pre-orders are available now on Steam and the PlayStation Store, with Lost Sphear scheduled to release digitally on January 23rd, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
