Square Enix Gaining Hype and Profit

Square Enix normally brings one thought to mind Final Fantasy. But the Japanese company is so much more than that as many fans know who play games in the Tomb Raider series or Just Cause. They are gaining a lot of stream right now with higher profit numbers than previous years.

Square Enix just recently reported their earnings for the the past six months and their is reason to celebrate. According to Gamespot they are gaining 18.1% profits over last year this time. They earned 86.4 billion yen up from last years 73.1 billion Yen says Gamespot.  This is an exciting time in their history after many unprofitable moments in Square’s history before merging with Enix and going bankrupt. As well as the now revived Final Fantasy XIV that originally lost a lot of revenue and failed before becoming a realm reborn.


What not everyone knows is Square Enix has a division specifically for video games known as Digital Entertainment. Not only that what else is surprising is that a lot of this profit didn’t come from the regular old video game systems. It game from games like Sengoku Ixa which is completely web browser game. Some mobile games like dragon quest and the Japanese only school girl strikers, final fantasy record keeper and more says Gamespot .

This proves that branching out from traditional gaming and traditional prices of games was a good move for Square Enix. In exciting new Square Enix is also branching out into different areas and forms of entertainment. Selling merchandise based off of popular series, including looking into publications and amusement areas. Not sure what exactly that means whether is be amusement park or something else but, definitely Square Enix know how to market and expand. They claim to be expanding with a more diverse audience so exciting changes are happening.

Of course it also helps that many new exciting triple A games are still coming from Square Enix. Like Kingdom Hearts 3, Just Cause 3, Rise of Tomb Raider, and more. So get ready for more exciting games in the future.
