Square Enix has released version 1.5.0 for Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, updating the game’s Enhanced version with New Game+, expanded language support, and several battle and menu adjustments. The update is available now.
New Game+ is the main addition in version 1.5.0. The mode allows players to begin a new playthrough after completing the game while carrying over unit levels, item data, and other progress from the cleared save. The update also adds Zodiac Compatibility to the unit status screen, giving players a direct way to check a unit’s zodiac sign and how it lines up with others.

Several of the smaller changes are aimed at making battle information easier to read without forcing players to back out of menus. When selecting a tile or targeting a unit with an ability, the status of the unit under the cursor can now be checked. The unit status screen has also been updated with a “Remove All Equipment” option in the Equipment & Abilities section. Job progression is clearer after the patch as well. Locked jobs now display their unlock conditions more plainly from the Job section of the unit status screen. During battle, camera angle and zoom settings are also retained for the full fight, rather than resetting as the battle moves through turns.

Version 1.5.0 adds three settings to the Enhanced version. “Maintain Auto-proceed” keeps auto-proceed active during cutscenes. “Ability Incantations Guaranteed” makes sure dialogue tied to certain abilities is always performed. “Ability Cursor Memory” keeps the cursor position in the Abilities section of the battle menu. The update also expands text language support for the Enhanced version. Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean are now available through the Language tab in the General Settings menu under “Text Language (Enhanced).” Square Enix also made minor text changes across all languages, adjusted certain sound effects, improved overall stability, and resolved other minor issues.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles includes both Enhanced and Classic versions of the tactical RPG. The Enhanced version features improved graphics, fully voiced dialogue, refined gameplay, and the Squire difficulty setting. The Classic version keeps the graphics and gameplay of the original 1997 release while using the War of the Lions translation.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
