SPOILERS: New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Leak Points To The DLC Characters That’ll Be Added To The Roster

A new leak from the user Mr. Anonymous Desperate of the Japanese forum site 5Channel suggests the remaining DLC character fighters that’ll be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The leak implies that Erdrick from the Dragon Quest series, Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden, Steve from Minecraft, and The Marine/Doomguy from the Doom series are the characters that are part of the remaining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Character packs.

While this and all rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, the same user also leaked the details of Joker from Persona 5 coming to the game before it was revealed and confirmed at the game awards. The leak specified that Mementos would be the stage that will be available in the game and that the persona Jack Frost could play part as a technique. More evidence in the form of a datamined leak of the source code of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate references Piranha Plant, Joker, and Erdrick from Dragon Quest.

Piranha Plant was the first DLC character that was revealed. The character will be free for anyone who pre-ordered the game or owns the game before January 31, 2019. The leak also suggests some alternate skins that will come with their characters. Erdrick from Dragon Quest will come with Dragon Quest X‘s Anlucia and Dragon Quest XI‘s hero character as alternate skins. Steve from Minecraft can be changed to look like Alex who is the other player character and the Minecraft Master Chief skin, while the Marine/Doomguy can be swapped with the skin from the Doom 64 version.

The leak suggests that the Doomguy reveal will happen during E3 2019 as a way to promote Doom Eternal, which will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. A seperate post by the same user claims that Rayman and Heihachi Mishima from Tekken could potentially replace Ryu and Doomguy as characters. It should also be noted that the leak also referenced Persona 5 R which was recently confirmed, and suggests that Persona 5 R will be released in the first half of 2019. More information about that title will be revealed in March. Again, while there is a lot of evidence, rumors should be taken with a grain of salt until something is officially announced in some way.
