Something very interesting appeared on Amazon yesterday. A listing for “Splinter Cell 2018“ was briefly displayed but taken down just as fast. The listing was noticed by a few Reddit users but unfortunately, the listing is no longer up to be viewed so very few actually got a look at it otherwise.
IGN seemed to get a peek at the listing as well, which does give some weight to its actual existence, but doesn’t outright confirm a new Splinter Cell game is on the horizon. The last Splinter Cell title we received was Splinter Cell: Black List which released back in 2013.
However, during an AMA last year Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot stated that Splinter Cell “is a brand we talk about a lot,” and also that fans should “stay tuned for more.” Although he didn’t give any specifics as to what they might have in store, this listing may be a good indication of what they have under wraps.
Back during E3 2017 Guillemot stated that “What we can say is we’re receiving a lot of sketches and proposals around the brand and we’re going to pick one up, I think you will be able to see something, but you will have to wait for that.” So it seems the developer definitely has something up their sleeves for the Splinter Cell series. There’s just the matter of when they will choose to reveal it in all of it’s glory. Fans may be hoping that Ubisoft is planning a big E3 reveal for the title, but only time will tell.
