During Sony’s E3 press conference it was announced that Insomniac Games, the studio behind the Rachet and Clank series, would be developing a new Spider-Man game exclusively for the PS4.  A trailer has been released for the game, which at this point is just known as Spider-Man.

In the trailer we see Spider-Man run through a cafe and jump out a window, swing through the city on his webs, and take out goons with his web-shooters.  This may be a look at some gameplay or just a cinematic trailer, for now we can’t be sure.

The trailer shows Spider-Man hurling enemies and large objects with his webs, as well as run alongside a building, the standard Spider-Man things.  The costume in this trailer has some similarities with the Spider-Man seen in Captain America: Civil War, he even has the ability to close and widen the black around his eyes.

Insomniac games said that “Marvel and Insomniac Games team up to create brand-new, authentic Spider-Man story exclusively for PS4…Take control of an experienced Peter Parker who is more masterful at fighting crime.”  Since this is a PS4 exclusive, it might also be compatible with the Playstation VR, much like the announced Batman: Arkham VR.

Hopefully with the help of Insomniac Games this new Spider-Man game will capture the feeling of swinging through Manhattan like the excellent Spider-Man 2 game.
