It seems it is an early Christmas for Sony. According to the corporate forecast that the company released earlier today, Sony is projected to sell 20 million more consoles by April 2017.
Sony’s console dominance is apparent through its constant sales, this year alone Sony sold 17.7 million consoles and now the projection is up around 13 percent from that. It seems Sony’s sales keep a consistent pattern of growth in the teen percentile range. This is exciting news for all PS4 fans as more and more content will be pushed as a result.
Sony Interactive Entertainment was a force to be reckoned with in 2015. The 2015 fiscal year saw the division of sony net 14.1 billion in sales and other operations income at around 900 million dollars. These are insane numbers as they already show a growth of over 80 percent for Sony’s Interactive Entertainment division.
The Company is anticipating another leap in this next year. Sony is predicting about 15 billion in sales an increase go about 8 percent from this year. They also forecast another hike in operations income at around 1.2 billion us dollars. This would mean a 52 percent leap. Sony is making these bold predictions as a testament to the increased sales and sales of PS4 accessories such as PlayStation VR. The report does not specifically bring up the VR, however it is on pace to launch this October for $399.
With these impressive numbers, expectations will be running high in anticipation for Sony’s conference at E3. The community is holding their breaths until then.
