The newest addition to the Call Of Duty franchise will be releasing this Friday for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, however, some people will be unable to purchase a digital copy of the game. The official Call of Duty Russia Twitter account revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be delisted from the Russian PlayStation Store. Activision gave a statement to Eurogamer that confirmed Sony’s choice to delist Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from the PlayStation Store in Russia.

The tweet when translated states that “At the heart of Modern Warfare is a fully fictional story, carefully crafted to please all players. SIE decided not to sell the game in the Russian PS Store. We look forward to the release of the game in digital form for PC and Xbox on October 25th.” Activision’s statement is very similar, stating, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a fictional game that has been thoughtfully created to entertain fans and tell a compelling narrative. Sony Interactive Entertainment has decided not to sell Modern Warfare on the PlayStation Store in Russia at this time. We look forward to launching Modern Warfare digitally in Russia on 25 October on PC via Battle.net and on console via Xbox.” Sony and Activision have yet to explain why they are removing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from the PS store in Russia.
Gamers everywhere might be happy to learn that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be changing up their formula for gameplay. Instead of using a Loot Box system like previous games, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be using a Battle Pass System which will allow players to access all of the games weapons, attachments, and other content without having to go through a pay wall. Fans of the Call of Duty series may also be excited to hear that the Call Of Duty League 2020 format has been revealed, and the Call of Duty Challengers Tournament will also be returning. Amateur players on the road to becoming professionals will have the chance to win $1 million dollars. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this Friday on October 25 for $59.99.
