Sony Playstation VR Demos In GameStop This Year–Out For Purchase October 2016

Virtual reality is an emerging entertainment and educational tool. It is a facet in almost all innovative ventures. Sony, a long time titan in video game making and platforming industry, is throwing its hat into the VR ring. Announced as Playstation VR, or PSVR, Sony is releasing its own version. However, unlike the pricey HTC and Oculus Rift, the Playstation VR is selling for approximately $500 USD (as opposed the usual $600-$800).

In an attempt to stay ahead of the game, Sony announces an early release of its VR platform–months ahead of other competitive VR platforms.

And thing seem to be coming up Sony, recently, as Occulus Rift and Vive shipment have been announced as delayed. No stranger to successful and long console campaign launches, Sony is confident that their newest venture into virtual reality will result in success, with President and Global CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc, Andrew House stating:

Ever since we unveiled PS VR during the 2014 Game Developers Conference, we’ve received a tremendous response from gamers and developers alike. To make sure that we are able to prepare and deliver enough units of PS VR and a wide variety of software titles to consumers worldwide, we have decided to launch PS VR in October 2016.

Meanwhile other Sony officials such as  head of PlayStation Magic Lab, Richard Marks, saying:

We’ve done hardware before, lots of hardware, and we have a very good track record of knowing how to bring products to market.

Over 230 game developers are working alongside Sony to bring quality and fun VR games to their newest platform–and to continue to keep ahead of their competitions, Playstation VR will be conducting showcasing of their technology at select Gamespot outlets this year.

We can look forward to enjoy Sony’s Playstation VR for play in our very own living rooms and bedrooms (because let’s be honest, we all want to play in our PJs) this coming October 2016.
