Sony Is Giving Away Free Games To Sell More PS5s

In order to sell more PS5 consoles, Sony is giving away free game for anyone that buys a PS5 right now. God Of War Ragnarök and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales are just a couple of free games to choose from a whole list of games.

After three years, PS5 hasn’t received a single price drop but that isn’t stopping Sony from finding new ways to get their consoles off the shelves and into homes. Their latest strategy is a free game after purchasing a PS5. Players can choose from a whole list of games that include:

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered
  • God of War Ragnarök
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • Demon’s Souls
  • The Last of Us Part I
  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure
  • Returnal
  • Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
  • Death Stranding: Director’s Cut

The deal came into play on September 23rd and it includes a range of first-party exclusives that would normally be priced at $70 like God Of War Ragnarök and The Last Of Us Part 1. This new upgrade program is available for PSN users and it only runs through October 20 so players will need to act quickly in order to take full advantage of the deal. During this period, anyone who buys a PS5 can redeem their free game from the aforementioned list of games.

Sci-fi shooter roguelike Returnal and the action-RPG Demon’s Souls remake are currently priced at the $70 mark but they can be yours for free if you purchase a PS5 right now. Other games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Spider-Man: Remastered are currently heavily discounted (you can get both games for a total of $40). The special promotion only lasts through September 28th.

This new deal comes as Sony is trying to hit a record-breaking 25 million consoles shipped for 2023. This latest sales push comes before the release of Spider-Man 2 on October 2nd. The upcoming game will be one of the first-party blockbusters to be a “next-gen” PS5 exclusive. Sony is clearly pushing to get more consoles sold in order to reach their milestone of PS5 consoles purchased in 2023.
