SEGA has officially announced and revealed the newest game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, Sonic Rumble. The upcoming mobile title has players entering a twisted toy world created by the notorious Dr. Eggman.

Sonic Rumble has players take control of one of toy figures that will compete in 32-player battle royale challenges, racing against each other to collect the most rings and prove themselves to be the fastest in the toybox. Players can customize all of the iconic characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe to create their own unique avatars and dive into the action-packed gameplay.

Sonic Rumble comes from developer Rovio who created the mega-hit Angry Birds. This is the first title to be released jointly by SEGA and Rovio. Rovio was acquired by SEGA last year. SEGA wants to further expand the presence of the Sonic the Hedgehog brand within the global mobile gaming market with Rovio’s marketing expertise and experience.

Fans interested can sign up to become closed beta testers in the upcoming closed beta, set to take place from May 24 – May 26, 2024.
