Eastshade Studios has officially dropped the gameplay teaser for Songs of Glimmerwick. The previously announced game doesn’t yet have a release date, but the trailer gives fans an insight into what they can expect from Songs of Glimmerwick in the future.
Songs of Glimmerwick according to its official website is “story driven witch academy PRG where magic is cast through music.” Its official description on Steam asks players to “Become immersed in a musical woodland fantasy world where casting a spell is as easy as playing a song. Attend classes, grow the university garden, make friends with classmates and townsfolk, and explore the island’s many oddities and mysteries in this story-driven witch academy RPG.”
From this Gameplay teaser, players can expect to get immersed. The trailer starts off with a character using a conch shell looking flute to play a tune and unveil a tree root covered door, viewers are then exported into a colorful and stylistic college building watching a character run across hallways to the headmaster office. Once there, the trailer treats players to the crisp voice lines and dialogue of Headmistress Abigail, before shuttling off to a hallway with other students.
From there, the world explodes as the trailer showcases various forest greenery, a ship sailing across water, cauldron based spell-work and character to character dialogue. Players are shown a bustling village, npc’s interacting with animals and the teaser of a point based ability system. Characters interact with various background features and a song based spell system is revealed with instructions tying particular melodies to needs, called the “power of the forest.”
The trailer continues showcasing seasonal based gameplay, events, custom shows and the in depth customization of both characters and buildings. The Official Trailer ends with a night time gathering of teacher and students while a bunch of magical flowers float to the sky, with the Teacher stating that “Everyone knows that rot leads to silence and unfortunately, some witches prefer it that way.” This ending statement alerts fans that while the world of Glimmerwick looks beautiful there are some surprises hiding in its gameplay.
Songs of Glimmerwick is available to add to your Wishlist currently, and the Eastshade team has highlighted via their website that the game will come to PC and possibly console in the future.
