Song of Iron Announces Release Date

Fans of promising indie title Song of Iron were excited to discover that a brand new trailer for the game has appeared and has officially revealed the game’s release date of August 31st, 2021. The game was originally slated for a 2021 release, but many fans expected a far longer wait considering that Song of Iron is entirely the work of a single developer!


Joe Winter is the solo developer behind Song of Iron, and he’s worked tirelessly to make sure that this game possesses all the quality it can. He’s been posting regular updates on its’ development process, highlighting special combos, tricky secrets, and even the occasional crazy bug.

Song of Iron is a side-scrolling adventure game in a Viking setting. The story has been shrouded in mystery up until this point, but the game’s combat has clearly been honed to a razor’s edge. With your trusty shield, bow, and axe, players will cut through waves of enemies, both human and monstrous alike, to discover Viking treasures and find the great temple of the Gods in order to force them to save your people from impending doom. In an interview with True Achievements, Winters had this to say about the game’s combat system:

I really hope people have a great time in combat, I really want an experience where players are just having fun being a powerful force of Viking.

Song of Iron will release August 31st, 2021 for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Check out the release date trailer below.
