SOEDESCO has announced Mirth Island, cozy rhythm adventure from developer Clay Game Studio, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The publisher revealed the partnership today, May 19, 2026, alongside an announcement trailer, with the game launching later in 2026. A specific date has not been shared, although a news post states the game will be available in July.
Dodo, a young duck, returns to his hometown after his acting career falls through. Once back on the island, he learns that the theater that first put him on the path to performing has been left in disrepair. His childhood friends Vivi and Rita join him in the effort to restore it. The Steam page describes the game as a story about resilience and personal growth, with Dodo helping the islanders work through their everyday problems as he rebuilds the theater. Gameplay alternates between island exploration, conversation-driven quests, and rhythm minigames spread throughout the story. SOEDESCO has said the rhythm portions are made for both casual players and those who enjoy more of a challenge. As Dodo helps the islanders, his work pulls in the people, materials, and support needed to bring the theater back to working order, culminating in a grand performance as the eventual goal of the effort.
The Steam page lists Mirth Island under Adventure, Casual, and Indie, with single-player support, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing all included. English is the only language listed at launch. SOEDESCO directs anyone looking for demo to try Mirth Melody, a short rhythm game Clay Game Studio released in August 2024 and set in the same universe as Mirth Island.
Clay Game Studio is based in Malang, Indonesia. The studio’s previous catalog includes the 2023 metroidvania Faerie Afterlight and the rhythm game Mirth Melody.
Mirth Island is available to wishlist now on Steam.
