The Summer Game Fest: Day of the Devs event showcased range of games, all with their own creative styles. One such game, from indie developer Soda Den, displayed its unique spin on the popular the farming-sim game genre; A prehistoric a co-op farming/life-sim called Roots Of Patcha. Taking inspiration from games such as Harvest Moon and Stardew ValleyRoots of Pacha thrusts the player into the stone-age where you have to work together with your clan to build from the ground up into something great.

Live your best life in the prehistoric world with a wide rage of customization options from player appearance, farms and your own home. Live through the beginnings of human civilization as you explore the wild, gathering food and learning the proper steps to farm and domesticate. Search the depts of the ocean for fish and other hidden treasures and caves for their own mystical mysteries. As the player builds up on the necessary tools needed to thrive, those new concepts will contribute on the cultivation of your clan’s growth.

Since Roots of Pacha is set in prehistoric times, there is no concept of money, meaning the player will need to work together with their clan members in order to prosper. And in order to work together, you must get to know your clan members. Reach out and get to know your fellow clan members, establish relationships with other neighboring clans and recruit outsiders to join your own clan. Joining in on activities such as festivals and rituals will help build a close-knit community and might even spark love.

Thanks to Roots of Pacha having co-op functionality join in on the festivities with your friends and help share your ideas and resources with them for their own respective clans, or just make your own together. While no exact release date has been finalized, a demo is available on Steam for those curious enough to test it out. Enjoy living out your best prehistoric while we await its official release sometime later this year.
