Interested in the delivery and network expansion of Death Stranding but prefer a more challenging version of Forza Horizon‘s off-road driving experience? Well if you fit into that very niche category, Saber Interactive’s upcoming game SnowRunner – the sequel to 2017s MudRunner – could be the perfect game for you. If not, and you simply enjoy any aspect of any of those games, SnowRunner still looks like it could be very interesting. In times like these, when most people are avoiding leaving their own homes, a simulator which lets you explore untamed wilderness to bring people much needed supplies seems to fit, and their new trailer plays into that beautifully, in a surprisingly emotional way.
On the lighter side of things, one aspect of MudRunner which made it successful was its support and encouragement of mods. Saber confirmed today that SnowRunner will also fully support mods, and that some will already be available at launch. Saber is actually working together with top MudRunner modders to produce vehicle mods at launch, and full map and mission mods soon after launch.
As of now, there are five mods already available on Mod.io on the game’s designated page, which include the Tesla Cybertruck and a Harley Davidson Fat Boy. The other trucks available on the mod page are the Ural 432031, the Kraz 255, and the M134 Minigun, but the thought of driving about the frozen wilderness in Tesla’s futuristic, angular ‘truck of the future’ or blasting through the mud and snow on a Harley chopper seem to be the most exciting at the moment.
These mods are only a small sampling of what is surely to come however, as MudRunner has nearly 5,000 active mods, and it has only been out for three years.
If you want to check out these mods you will need to buy the PC version of the game, but SnowRunner is set to release on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on April 28th.
