With a somewhat mysterious countdown to the games release, CI Games has finally chosen to release a cinematic trailer on Youtube that tells a little bit about what Sniper Ghost Warrior 3’s main story will be about. Well that, and showing off some brutal headshots and other finishers in true warrior fashion.
While still not hashing out any crucial details about the main plot of the game, we did get a glimpse into what drives the main character, Jon. In the opening scenes its revealed that John and his brother are ambushed while on what can be assumed as a mission. His brother is taken and he is knocked unconscious.
Here is a little backstory on the brothers provided in the description of the video itself,
Having been raised on a ranch at the foot of the Colorado Rockies, Jon and his younger brother, Robert, were always best friends and also their own greatest rivals. Their family always considered military service the highest form of patriotism, so it was no surprise that both of them enlisted as soon as they were able to. But while Jon has been shaped into a resolutely “follow the book” type of Marine, Robert quickly rose through the ranks of the US Navy–despite using sometimes using unorthodox methods–and became more rebellious and skeptical of authority along the way. Robert deeply loves his older brother, but also believes that an old-school way of thinking in warfare will inevitably leave Jon behind.
The main story will be about Jon working hard to find his brother and unravel the mystery of his abduction. In true Sniper Ghost Warrior fashion, you will be taking down enemies from a distance, or, well, however you want really. The trailer shows off some new headshot graphics with exploding skulls, definitely more brutal than the previous installments of the game.
Being the newest game there is obviously going to be new gadgets, one of which being a drone that has been seen in other videos released to date. Unlike the previous two games in the series, 3 will have an open world to explore. The game doesn’t release until April 25th on Xbox one, PS4, and PC.
