Developer and publisher Snail has announced 9 Yin Sutra: Immortal, a new open-world cultivation sandbox heading to PC via Steam. Blending survival, base-building, and exploration with talisman arts and artifact crafting, the game made its public debut at ChinaJoy 2026. A new trailer dropped alongside the announcement, although there is no confirmed release date.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game takes place in a world where rising spiritual qi awakens all living things to the path of cultivation. Players step into the role of one of many cultivators chasing eternal life, but how they reach that goal is left entirely open. In this place where any of the Dao’s three thousand paths can lead to immortality, both humans and spirits can cultivate their own way. Whether a player chooses to draw in qi, temper the body, refine the spirit, or find another route entirely, the journey is theirs to shape. Some seek answers out in the world, while others turn inward.
Exploration is a huge part of the experience, with a massive playable space stretching over 1,600 square kilometers. Players can take flight on a sword, soaring above seas of clouds and watching celestial events unfold high above the mortal world. Cross-platform progression ensures a save goes wherever the player does, and the world is built for multiplayer interaction, letting cultivators from various regions meet up and share insights on the Dao. The gameplay systems revolve around cultivation. Players can cast incantations to write runes on almost any object, transforming everyday items into powerful talismans. There is even a branch of spatial arts unlocked via divine sense that lets a player shrink and pocket everything from a tiny seed to an entire sect hall. On top of that, the crafting system uses flexible material ratios and multi-step processes so players can forge unique artifacts, brew powerful elixirs, and create talismans.
9 Yin Sutra: Immortal is available to wishlist now on Steam.
