Hi-Rez Studios announced today the details about patch 3.16 coming out for Smite. There will be an introduction of a new goddess, Izanami, whose attacks have the potential to do mass damage to anyone in her way. There will also be new achievements as well as new character skins. The most anticipated is the Hoot ‘n Holler Bacchus which includes camo shorts, USA flag tank top, beer can hat, crocks, and a Giant corn dog that takes place visually or his weapon.
Izanami is the Matron of The Dead and in having such a title the developers made sure to give her the right balance of skills. Here is a full list of her abilities as provided on the Smite website:
Death Draws Nigh- The closer Izanami gets to death, the more powerful she becomes. Izanami gains 4% Physical Penetration for each 15% of her Health that is missing, up to a maximum of 20%.
Sickle Storm- For 6s, Izanami throws her kama sickles even faster and more furiously. While active, they no longer return to her but instead do 100% of her Basic Attack damage plus additional bonus damage. She may reactivate this ability to revert to her normal Basic Attacks.
Spectral Projection- Izanami sends forth a demonic visage of herself to strike down her enemies, damaging and Slowing all Enemies in a line. If an Enemy God is killed while slowed by this ability, future uses of the slow will be increased by 6% per kill up to twice, for a maximum of 30%.
Fade Away- Izanami descended into the underworld, becoming Stealthed, before leaping away from her current position. Firing a damaging Ability or Basic Attack breaks her Stealth.
Dark Portal- Izanami summons a dark portal which Damages and Silences all Enemies in range.
There will also be some general character skill adjustments in order to have an equal playing field. The most prominent character changes seem to focus on Hou Yi. He will be receiving a damage boost on Ricochet, while reducing bonus damage after a bounce. Golden Bow will lose the bonus penetration it gains at level 5 while lasting for less time. Golden Bow will also now reveal marked targets at all ranks.
