The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim just seems to be the game that keeps on giving. Already filled with thousand upon thousand of mods, the game just received a full expansion to one of its biggest quest add on’s, Enderal. Titled Enderal: Forgotten Stories, the expansion adds a ton of new content, but the biggest addition is two new guilds and their massive quest chains.
Originally released in 2016, Enderal was created by a German development company, SureAI, who has been releasing special add-on content for Elder Scrolls games since Morrowind. This specific expansion however is more than just an add on, as it also acts as a conversion modifier, changing some of the gameplay aspects that we’re used to in the Elder Scrolls series. The core engine and assets are all accounted for, but the story and gameplay mechanics are completely different.
The two guilds that are featured in the expansion, The Golden Sickle and the Rhalâta, are a major driving force for the expansion. Complete with a long quest line, you’ll have to decide which one to join and support. Or like many players, just make two different save files and play both of them, because why not? In addition, there are some side-quests to undertake, as well as two new classes based on crafting as opposed to brawling.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is famous, and infamous, for being re-released multiple times for many different systems, but it also shows just how much staying power the game has. Ever since it launched in late 2011, Skyrim has been one of the most, if not the most, modded video games on the market. Bethesda may not always make the greatest decisions, but you can’t deny their support of allowing people to utilize their Creation Engine to mess around with the core gameplay.
Enderal: Forgotten Stories is out now for Skyrim, which you can download for free as long as you own the base game. You can check it out here.
