Skyrim: Legendary Edition Announced

Complete Edition of Elder Scrolls V to Street on June 4

Bethesda Software—the developers and/or publishers of some of the biggest gaming time-sucks of the past few years (Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimFallout 3) have announced the “all-in-one” definitive edition of their enormous hit Skyrim. It includes the three DLC titles released, as well as a handful of other features that were present in the 1.9 update for Skyrim.

If you’ve been under a large rock, or a series of medium-sized rocks, or even a deluge of tiny rocks, and are unfamiliar with the series, the Elder Scrolls titles are first-/third-person sword-and-sorcery open world games set in a richly-lored fantasy universe. They are best known for their beautifully diverse environments, open-ended gameplay (where players often abandon the main quest to just go live in the world), and devouring incredible amounts of gamer time. The Legendary edition of Skyrim follows the tradition (as in earlier titles) of releasing all of the DLC (or expansion packs) together with the best-patched version of the base game usually in a “Game of The Year” edition. It appears, just the title is changed for this pack.

If you have a couple of weeks’ vacation coming up and don’t feel like opening mail, eating meals, or going to the bathroom, it’s definitely worth checking out.
