Sky: Children of the Light Launches the Season of Lightseekers Update

Two months after releasing Sky: Children of the Light, an indie adventure game about children who can fly thanks to their capes, developer thatgamecompany has launched a seasonal update for the game. The update will provide players with new adventure opportunities, stories, characters, and collectibles and other game updates. Following the “Season of Gratitude”, this new update is the “Season of Lightseekers” and will take place over the next seven weeks.

Players can team up to travel through the six realms of the game to find and help the spirits of six ancestor Lightseekers who got lost in their travels across the Sky kingdom. As they encounter these spirits, they can learn new expressions from them, including Carry, Double High-Five, Lazy Cool Stance, Triple Axel, Crab Call, and Quiet. Players will also unlock new items along the way, such as luminescent capes, flute instruments, hats, and even new hairstyles to customize their character with. There will also be a new umbrella prop item, which will protect players from harsh rain in the Hidden Forest. Lastly, there will be new Lightseeker Quests in which players can catch flying light through the kingdom.

Aside from the Season of Lightseekers, some new key features have been added to the game. Sky: Children of the Light is now compatible with MFi controllers and will use any connected gamepad by default. Players will be able to better maintain their Top Friends, with whom they can now share the Carry and Double-Five expressions during their exchanges, and will also be able to block other players. There is a new account panel to make accessing player information, such as game progress and recovery, easier to manage. Other updates include changes to friend connectivity, replacing Light Gifting with Partial Heart Gift in the friendship constellation menu, general performance optimization, and “something secret for the fans,” according to thatgamecompany’s media alert.

The Season of Lightseekers can be purchased for $9.99 USD on the App Store or gifted in a two-pack bundle for $14.99 USD within the app itself. Sky: Children of the Light is free-to-start and currently only available on iOS, but is open for pre-registration on Android and will be developed for PC and console in the future as well.
