Skull And Bones Gets Gameplay Overview And An Official Release Date

Ubisofts Skull And Bones has been one of the rockiest productions in the industry for a very long time, with many players fully believing that the game would be scrapped eventually and Ubisoft would take their horrible loss on the chin. Surprisingly we got more information on the title at this years game awards, with a new trailer and game play overview premiering as well as an official release date of February 16 2024. This came as a huge shock to many fans because as previously mentioned many believed the game would never see the light of day and now it miraculously has a release date that is very very soon.

The game play trailer and overview were actually pretty interesting as many new features were showcased with much excitement related to mythical battles with paranormal myths and giant sea creatures also being amazing additions to the game. The game is confirmed to be up to 3 player co-op and features an open world pirate hub in which players can come across other parties sailing the indian ocean. You can either choose to join your flags together as a bigger pirate group or take each other on to prove who truly is the worthy pirate. The game promises an incredible story as well as memorable characters. Exploration looks very intriguing as well as it will be done mainly on your ship, as majority of the gameplay does, but also will feature areas to explore on land. The game is heavily focused on naval combat and on upgrading your ships, yes multiple. Their is confirmed to be a rarity system in your ships weapons, armor, and mobility as well as others.

Some negatives that people have pointed out is that the game has zero ground combat, the only focus of this game will be purely naval combat with the previously mentioned tidbits of on land exploration. This has players confused because it would truly be the ultimate pirate game if it had boarding and ground combat. One potential reason for the omission for these mechanics is that Ubisoft most likely didnt want people to say that it was an Assassin’s Creed knock off, seemingly how people have compared the newly released Avatar Frontiers Of Pandora to being too similar to Far Cry. Nonetheless players can look forward to finally playing a title that has been in the works for almost a decade on February 16th.
