Sims 4 Seasons Expansion Pack Announced

A new expansion pack for The Sims 4 has been announced. On June 22, your Sims will once again be able to experience the joys (and terrors) of weather and seasons.

One of the main difficulties players have with The Sims as a series is that transitioning from one numerical entry in the series to another causes them to lose out on all of the features added by expansion packs. A good example of this is going from Sims 3 to Sims 4, as Sims 3 had some pretty great expansion packs, including the Sims 3 version of the Seasons expansion first introduced in the second game. Now, the newest rendition of The Sims will get to enjoy the rain, snow, sun, and the seasons.

As one could guess, the Seasons expansion adds the four seasons to the game, temperature effects, and weather. You’ll get to watch the world of The Sims 4 transition between spring, summer, fall, and winter. There will also be a variety of weather effects, including sweltering hot days, snow storms, and heavy rainstorms. The various seasons and weather will also allow for seasonal activities, such as making snow angels or splashing in rain puddles. These seasonal activities will also include holidays, a perfect way for your Sims to get festive. You can even create your own holidays and choose how your Sims will celebrate them.

Another big change in Seasons will be an expansion to the gardening skill. One of these changes is a new career path the focuses on that skill. As you climb up the ranks, you can choose whether to go into a more scientific branch and become more of a botanist, or go deep in the traditional gardening path and focus on planting and harvesting.

Seasons will give you a chance to rain joy on your Sims (or rain on their parade) June 22. I think we all know what choice we’ll choose.
