Just yesterday, developers from Lizardcube and SEGA have released a story trailer for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance. The game is available for pre-order as of now on PC through Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch. SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance will launch on August 28th of this year, though it says August 29th at the end of the trailer. Players who wish to purchase the PlayStation version of the game and are PlayStation Plus owners can get the game at a discount for $26.99 before the official release. Players who also pre-order the game on Steam will receive a 10% discount.

The trailer reveals the story of the legendary ninja clan called the Oboro Clan, which is led by the protagonist Joe Musashi. The clan has defended the world against evil forces, until one day where Lord Ruse, leader of ENE Corp., destroyed Joe Musashi’s village. Lord Ruse is a powerful enemy against Joe, he weirds a stolen artifact that grants him immortality.

Lord Ruse has an ultimate goal– to destroy the Oboro Clan and wipe it clean off the map once and for all. Joe fought against Ruse as his village was engulfed into flames and the people of his clan were turned to stone. At Joe’s lowest moments, he meets an ally and together, they will track down Ruse to destroy him for good.

SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is a 2D-Platformer that has a hand-drawn look that was created by the team who worked on Streets of Rage 4. Players will wield ninja arsenal that includes the Katana Oborozuki, Kunai, Ninjutsu stars, and Ninpo as well to defeat different enemies.

Players will be able to unleash and create different combos and techniques as well as acquire Amulets for enhanced abilities. Players can also discover Ningi tools to overcome obstances and discover new pathways, all according to the description on the official Steam page. Lastly, players will be able to explore a variety of different stages that consist of military bases, a desert, as well as different platforming puzzles and hidden secrets to discover.
