At the spur of the moment, Nintendo announced yesterday that a Nintendo Direct Mini was set to take place today. It’s the first Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase which is a series focused on titles from their development and publishing partners. More Partner Showcases will be released during the year. “With this new Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, we are delighted to be shining a spotlight on great games from our development and publishing partners,” said Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Publisher and Developer Relations. “With multiple showcases this year, we can continue to highlighting the breadth of games and the variety of experiences all types of players can get on Nintendo Switch.” Here is everything that was revealed during the presentation.
Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda is getting three DLC packs for the game. The first pack, available now, includes five additional characters joining the game’s ensemble. These characters include Impa, who excels in ranged attacks, and Aria, who cannot take a hit or miss a beat, otherwise, it’s game over. Aria is perfect for players who like a challenge. It costs $5.99 to purchase. The second DLC pack includes 39 songs that will be added to the game including remixes of the background music that you can change at any time. It’ll be available at the end of October for $5.99. The third DLC pack is Symphony of the Mask, new story content for the game. You’ll play as the mysterious Skull Kid and venture through a new map complete with new songs and a new story. Skull Kid can change abilities based on the masks he dons. This will also be released at the end of October for $9.99. You can also purchase a Season Pass and get each pack when it becomes available for $14.99.
Rogue Company is a stylish new shooter where players will lay waste to their opponents with an arsenal of weapons and abilities. You’ll be able to clash with other players in competitive and casual game modes. You can also challenge AI opponents. Cross-platform and cross-save will be supported when the game launches.
WWE 2k Battlegrounds is coming to Nintendo Switch on September 18. Players can battle it out as their favorite WWE Superstars and Legends in all-new over-the-top in-your-face arcade action with outlandish interactive environments.
Lastly, the Partner Showcase ended with the return of Shin Megami Tensei. Two games are coming to the Nintendo Switch next year. In Shin Megami Tensei V, the next numbered entry in the series, order itself has crumbled and chaos reigns over all. After 17 years since it was originally released, a remaster of Shin Megami Tensei III or as it is known in the U.S. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. The game will be a full high-definition remake and will be released in the Spring.
