Harebrained Schemes’ anticipated follow up to Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall, Shadowrun: Hong Kong, is nearing release this summer, and to build hype, the studio has put out a teaser trailer and some neat screenshots.
The update was made on the game’s Kickstarter page, which managed to amass an astonishing $1.2 million in funding for the game, twelve times its original proposal.
“Shadowrun: Hong Kong is on track for an important milestone at the end of this month: Feature Complete!” read the update, “That’s when the code for all our new features is working in the game. There will still be a little placeholder art remaining for some of the new interfaces we’ve added, but the underlying code works like it’s supposed to and everything will be in the hands of the artists and the designers after that.”
A set of screenshots has been posted on both the Kickstarter page and the newly revealed Steam store page, showing the series’ signature visuals, with glorious 2D pre-rendered backgrounds and 3D characters:
The game is currently available for pre-order for $19.99, which will come furnished with a complete soundtrack and PDF artbook. The regular price, upon launch, will be $29.99.
Additionally, both Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun Dragonfall are currently on sale at 80% and 70% off, respectively, so now’s a good a time as ever to pick them up if you’re even remotely interested.
