It looks like we won’t be waiting much longer to get our hands on Flying Wild Hog’s next entry in the Shadow Warrior franchise. Thanks to a leaked release date on the Microsoft Store as well as the PlayStation Store, we now know that Shadow Warrior 3 will officially launch on March 1, 2022, just a couple of months from now. While neither the developer nor publisher Devolver Digital has confirmed this date, it’s more or less official since two of the major video game powerhouses have made the listings themselves.
In addition, both of the listings show that the game will cost $49.99. The listings also show that if you pre-order the game, you will receive a special Katana Skin pack, but that isn’t even the best part about this. They also state that if you pre-order the game, you will not only get the new title, but also the previous two entries in the franchise, Shadow Warrior and Shadow Warrior 2. In short, if you pre-order Shadow Warrior 3, you get three titles just like that. Talk about an amazing incentive to get the game.
As for the details in the story, Shadow Warrior 3 is about a fallen corporate shogun Lo Wang, as well as his partner Orochi Zilla, attempting to obtain an ancient dragon from its eternal prison in a Neo Feudal Japan that has been completely taken over by demons from Japanese stories. The game combines extremely fast gun play with melee-style combat, which is the franchise’s trademark feature. This also includes air dashing, wall jumping, and using double jumps.
Shadow Warrior 3 will officially launch on March 1, 2022, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC.
