As noted in the tweet above, Games Done Quick are not taking any chances with the return to an in-person event status. Anyone who plans to attend must be both vaccinated and wear a mask, which is something that a lot of in-person events have been mandating for the past several months. In addition, they will be capping the amount of people who can attend, as well as practicing social distancing. The organizers also mention that they will continue to monitor the ever changing situation with the pandemic and alter/change the attendance policies as they see fit.
For the past 12 years now the Games Done Quick streams have become popular events in the video game community. The previous event, the SGDQ 2021, raised nearly $3 million for the Doctors Without Borders charity. Earlier this year, the Awesome Games Done Quick 2022 (AGDQ) raised a record $3.4 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Now that there will be an actual live crowd, the event is sure to have a familiar feel to it as cheers will be heard through the stream. The SGDQ 2022 event will go from June 26 through July 3.
