The official demo launch trailer has just released for Deadpact, a single-player, story driven, survival horror puzzle game. This game combines horror elements such as survival, monstrous characters, gore, and psychological themes with head scratching puzzle-solving.
Play as a man sentenced to death, his only chance at freedom being going “into the dark.” As the narrative progresses, players will have to manage self sustenance while descending into a cavern and coming face to face with creatures that have the sole purpose of causing harm to others. These creatures have their own unique AI behavior, some are sensitive to the sounds you cause, some others can influence you to cause harm to yourself rather than taking it into their own hands. Either one you come across, getting past them is the goal, and your only safe place in the darkness is a tavern.
The tavern is where most of the human characters can be found, sitting around, drinking, and conversing. You can join them, buy a strange brew, trade clues, and report to the man who sent you on this dark journey. Telling the truth about your discoveries can be your secret to keep, the choice is yours. However, “Every choice is remembered, and yours decide how this ends.”
With the power to make your own choices, the ending you receive will be dependent on the way you play. This makes every gamethrough distinct from one another, keeping gameplay fresh and enticing.
Experience Act 1, the beginning of this story when you play the demo. This is one third of the full game, just enough to get a grasp on how it works and what to expect. The demo allows you to “Explore the ruins, meet new characters, discover new dialogue options, trade for supplies, and interact with the world using your own hands.”
Play the Deadpact demo now on Steam.
