Publisher Serafini Productions and developer Eye Blink Twice have announced that Time To Wake Up, an atmospheric psychological thriller, is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in addition to its previously announced PC version on Steam. A console announcement trailer accompanied the news. Both versions is set for Q3 2026.
In Time To Wake Up, players find themselves trapped inside dream, guided by a mysterious voice with an unsettling fixation on their eyes. The duo sets out to uncover the truth behind the protagonist’s school days, navigating a tangled web of old memories within the mind of a character named Alan Malone. The game revolves around blinking. Shutting and reopening your eyes physically alters the environment, allowing players to shift objects, flood rooms with water, or completely rotate the world to access new areas. A recent update even applied this mechanic to the game’s audio, meaning single blink changes the soundtrack alongside the visuals. This perception-bending approach to puzzle design has already drawn comparisons to titles like Superliminal and Viewfinder.
The dreamscape twists ordinary school environments into something strange. Players navigate dimly lit libraries, unsettling playgrounds, and looping restrooms connected by endless classrooms and corridors packed with bedrooms. The mysterious voice not only narrates, but actively helps the player progress, clearing the path forward by opening doors both literally and figuratively. Danger comes from other students, whose relentless stares are best avoided entirely, as well as sudden blasts of wind strong enough to throw players across a room. Beneath all the surreal imagery, the studio describes the narrative as a deeply personal journey about confronting your inner child and finally leaving the shadows of the past behind.
Time To Wake Up marks the debut release from Eye Blink Twice, a studio founded in June 2023 with a mission to blend striking gameplay and grounded storytelling with dense, atmospheric worlds. The team is also already hard at work on a second project, titled Up or Down. A playable demo originally launched in March and was recently showcased during June’s Steam Next Fest.
Time To Wake Up is available to wishlist now on Steam.
