Self Publishing on 360 Around the Corner?

Get your slide rules ready…

According to a report filed by Polygon all of you wanna be game developers will soon be able to complete your home-grown games and publish them for play on Microsofts Xbox 360 console-without the need of a fancy schmancy publisher.

This move by Microsoft would be inline with its plans for independent developers to self-publish on its upcoming console, the XBox One, which was announced last week.Although this new 360 policy has not been officially announced by Microsoft, evidence of it comes from FarSight, a developer who last year  published through CraveEntertainment.  FarSight’s game The Pinball Arcade was pulled from LiveArcade 360 when CraveEntertainment went out of business. FarSight has since announced in an internal newsletter that developers “like FarSight” would, in August, be able to self publish games to Live Arcade.

Game on! Publisher not required.
