Sega has now let fans know that they are working on something big thanks to a teaser trailer they released after their Sonic the Hedgehog panel at South by Southwest. The teaser itself pretty much leaves us in the dark. Its only a little over 20 seconds long and, only shows the headlights of a car with the distinctive sounds of engines revving up, and a silhouette of presumably the game’s logo with only the letter “R” visible.
The title of the video doesn’t give us much to speculate on either as both the Twitter post containing the video and the title for the teaser on YouTube both only contain the message “[TOP SECRET].” Although, Sega didn’t leave us any leads within this teaser many fans are already predicting what this game might be.

Sonic the Hedgehog is no stranger to auto racing and already has a couple of previous racing titles under his belt with 2010’s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed which released in 2012. Some people are guessing that this new title could be the third entry into the series after rumors of a sequel to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed being in development had surfaced.
However, nothing is confirmed at this point and it looks like Sega is going to stay tight lipped on the matter for some time. But whether this new game is a sequel into the Sonic & All-Stars Racing series, or a brand new racing title all together, fans will be happy to see the iconic character back behind the wheel.
