Sega Looking to Purchase Atlus

Atlus is a Japanese game developer, publisher, and distributor well known for the Megami Tensei and Trauma Center series. The company is owned by Index Corporation, who recently filed for bankruptcy. Consequently, Atlus is up for sale to the highest bidder; it seems that might just be Sega.

According to Bloomberg Japan, Sega has thrown in a bid of $203.3 million.

Sega and Atlus are both Japanese based companies so it makes geographical sense. Sega also distributes Atlus games in Japan and recently purchased Relic Entertainment, developers of Company of Heroes 2.

Sega seems poised to make another splash in the industry.
