Recently, we’ve seen a trend of companies releasing mini versions of classic consoles. Nintendo had much success with the NES as well as the SNES Classics. After seeing how fans really took to the these classics, many have speculated that other companies will start releasing classic consoles of their own. Sony is a perfect example of this with the release of their PlayStation Classic console at the end of last year.
Now, Sega has chosen to follow suit as they have officially announced the Sega Genesis Mini. According to Sega, the console will be based on the Model 1 Genesis except it will be about half the size smaller. The company has also revealed that the compact console will have 40 classic titles.
