The console will include a library of over 50 games, including some of Sega’s biggest hits. In total there will be over 50 games and some of them will be from Sega’s CD titles. Among other games, the Sega Genesis Mini 2 will feature the Sonic CD, Shining Force CD, OutRun, and Afterburner 2. The original Sega Genesis Mini came with 42 games in total, so the addition of more games will surely be appreciated by those who bought the original. Although there have only been 23 games announced, the full list of games will surely be released as the release date for the console comes closer as well.
In addition to the new console’s setup, it will also be coming with a six-button controller but the three-button controllers from the Genesis Mini will be compatible with the Mini 2. Purchase of the whole unit will come with the console, a wired controller, a USB power adapter, a power cable, and an HDMI cable. For the time being, the Sega Genesis Mini 2 is an Amazon exclusive and might be hard to acquire in North America. Due to the continued semiconductor shortage, there will be a limited supply of the Mini 2 across North America. While there might be a limited supply at the current moment, Sega is surely looking for solutions that can help bring more consoles to the U.S.
