Today, Activision and Infinity Ward detailed everything coming into the next season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Season Two will have two new multiplayer maps, a new ground war map, new gunfight maps, new multiplayer modes, a new operator, and new weapons on day one. During the season, a new multiplayer map, two new operators, new multiplayer modes, and a new weapon will be coming to the game. Season Two of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare kicks off on February 11 for all platforms.
Rust, a classic map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comes back to the series. The map will be available in standard multiplayer and gunfight. Rust will have players needing to utilize their surroundings such as high and low cover to be one step ahead of your enemies. Another map coming on Launch day is called Atlas Superstore where players battle in dense lanes of traffic, over fallen shelving, and throughout the shipping, receiving, and employee-only areas of a superstore warehouse. A third standard multiplayer map called Khandor Hideout comes to Season Two during the season.
Coming to Ground War on launch day is the Zhokov Boneyard where players will try to capture their objective as they fight through an airport junkyard. Bazaar is a map available for Gunfight on launch day where players will fight in a highly contained cross-section of the streets of Urzikstan.
Gunfight Tournaments is a new game mode coming in Season Two on launch day. It’s a single-elimination 2v2 firefight where players can battle for a limited time to earn rewards. Also coming on launch day is the Call of Duty League Ruleset Playlist where the settings, available weapons, maps, and modes have been altered to what the Call of Duty League plays like.
New Game Modes coming mid-season include Demolition, a respawn mode similar to Search and Destroy, Infected Ground War which has players joining up to hold off an infected horde until time expires, and NVG Reinforce which is a hybrid of Domination and Search and Destroy.
The two free weapons available for the new Battle Pass system are the Grau 5.56 and the Striker. The Grau 5.56 excels at long range while the Striker has potential at longer ranges compared to other SMGs.
The next operator coming to the game is Ghost, a character who was originally in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He is a British Special Forces operator who is an expert at clandestine tradecraft, sabotage, and infiltration.
